YDO Expands Representation for Oklahoma’s 39 Tribal NationsOklahoma City, OK - April 29th, 2026 - The Young Democrats of Oklahoma (YDO) are proud to announce the formation of the Indigenous Caucus, a landmark initiative dedicated to uplifting Indigenous leadership, advancing equity, and ensuring meaningful representation within the state’s political landscape.As home to 39 tribal nations, Oklahoma holds one of the largest Indigenous populations in the country. The creation of this caucus reflects YDO’s commitment to an inclusive organization that honors the sovereignty, history, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous communities.“Delanie Seals has been appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Indigenous Caucus,” stated Daren Quiñonez, YDO’s Vice President. “Through her leadership, the caucus will focus on building power, fostering collaboration, and expanding opportunities for Indigenous voices. This effort represents a continued investment in ensuring all voices are heard, valued, and empowered.”Delanie Seals, a member of the Chickasaw Nation who also chairs the national Young Democrats of America Indigenous Caucus, will lead the new state chapter. The new chapter mobilizes young progressives across Cleveland County to shape Oklahoma’s future.Norman, OK - October 23, 2025 - The Young Democrats of Oklahoma (YDO) proudly announces the chartering for the Cleveland County Young Democrats, a new chapter dedicated to empowering young leaders and building progressive momentum in one of the state’s faster-growing and most diverse communities.With thousands of young voters in the area, Cleveland County represents a critical hub for youth engagement. The new chapter will help organize young Oklahomans ages 18 to 35 across Norman, Moore, South OKC, Noble, Lexington, Slaughterville, and surrounding communities to connect, collaborate, and take action on issues that matter to them.“Cleveland County has always been a critical hub of Democratic politics for our state. The county is home to our state’s largest university and thousands of young people of all walks of life.
